Build Tips

Universal tips from the team bench. Apply to every Ferrum model.

Capacitor

Always run a low-ESR cap on the XT60 leads. Cleans video, protects the ESC, extends pack life. Larger frames (50/70/S50) - twin caps.

Antenna Mounting

TPU mounts always. Keep antennas clear of carbon and motor wires. Linear durability is the point - don't waste it with bad placement.

VTX Standoffs

For DJI O3/O4 Pro use longer standoffs and a TPU mount. Don't compress the top plate against the VTX board. For O4 Lite - standard standoffs work.

Prop Direction

Run props in (default) on all Ferrum models. Quieter, cleaner camera, fewer rocks chewed.

Battery Strap

Square pack sits flat on the top plate. Use a battery pad, route the strap through the slots - no slipping mid-flip.

Betaflight

Start with stock filtering for every model. Don't chase RPM tunes until the frame, motors, and props are dialed. Especially true for the S50 with high-KV BlackBird V4.
