PID Tunes

Betaflight PID tuning is the difference between a frame that flies clean and one that fights you in every corner. On the Ferrum series, mass distribution, arm stiffness, and prop size all shift how your quad responds to stick input, which means a tune dialed for one build won't necessarily carry over to another.

We're compiling tested PID presets for each Ferrum frame size (25, 35, 50, 70, 80) across common motor and prop combinations. Rather than publish untested numbers, we tune iteratively in the field, adjusting filters, D-term, and feedforward for the actual mass and stiffness of each frame.

In the meantime:

  • Start from Betaflight's built-in defaults for your flight controller and firmware version.
  • Run the auto-tune / quick-tune workflow if your FC supports it, then fine-tune by feel.
  • Never copy a PID tune blind — motor KV, prop pitch, battery voltage, and frame mass all change what "correct" looks like for your build.
